The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Sunday at Camden Yards for game three of their AL East series.
The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays have split their first two games of their weekend series making Sunday’s game the rubber match. Through two games there have been five total runs scored so for the AL East, which is known for power and offense, this one has been all about pitching and defense. The Blue Jays are at .500 and trail the Rays by a game in the American League East and the Orioles are a game and a half behind the Rays. Saturday’s game went extra innings so both pitchers used several pitchers so they will be looking for quality innings from their starters. On Sunday the Orioles go with Ubaldo Jimenez who is sporting a 6.75 ERA through two starts and at 0-2 Jimenez is still looking for his first win as an Oriole while Toronto goes with Mark Buehrle who is off to a fast start at 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA and going 14 innings in his two starts.
USA TODAY Sports
Baltimore is 4-1 in game three of a series, 9-4 against a left-handed starter, and 7-2 in their last nine Sunday games. Toronto is 7-19 in game three of a series, 3-9 against a team with a losing record, and 3-7 in Buehrle’s last 10 starts against the AL East. Toronto is 6-14 in their last 20 games in Baltimore.
This series has been tight and right now Buehrle has been a difference maker so my play here is the Blue Jays.
