The San Diego Padres and the Detroit Tigers face off on Sunday in San Diego as they close out their interleague series.

The San Diego Padres and the Detroit Tigers have split the firs two games of their series but neither of the games has been close. The Padres got the win on Friday to get the series started while the Tigers bounced back on Saturday scoring six runs and getting the win. The Padres are just 3-7 in their alst 10 games and 3.5 games back in the NL West while the Tigers are 6-3 and lead the AL Central by 1.5 games over the White Sox and the Indians. For Sunday’s game the Padres start Tyson Ross who is 0-2 this season with a 4.35 ERA lasting 10.1 innings on his two starts while the Tigers counter with AL Cy Young Award Winner Max Scherzer who doesn’t have a decision this season though he is sporting a 1.20 ERA.

San Diego Padres vs. Detroit Tigers MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 4/13/14

Sand Diego is 5-11 against the AL Central, 3-8 agaisnt a right-handed starter, and 1-6 in Ross’ last seven home starts. Detroit is 2-5 in their last seven interleague games, 2-6 against the NL West, and 12-4 in Scherzer’s last 16 starts as a road favorite.

While Scherzer doesn’t have a decision yet he has pitched well while with Ross not going deep into games the Padres bullpen will be called on early and often which means plenty of pinch hitters I still see this one staying under the total.

I also have a play on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
