The Colorado Rockies will look to sweep the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon.
The Phillies have lost four of their last five games and are having a hard time putting runs on the board. In the Phillies last four games, they’ve scored a combined four runs, but only struck out three times in Saturday’s loss, which means they’re at least putting the bat on the ball. On Sunday, Roberto Hernandez will get the nod, and he’s 1-0 on the season with a 3.86 ERA and has struck out 17 batters in 16.1 innings of work. Hernandez lost his only career start against the Rockies, as he allowed seven runs in 4.2 innings.

The Rockies have won four of their last five games and improve to 10-9 on the season overall. The Rockies pitching staff has allowed a combined three runs in their last three games, while the batting lineup entered Sunday ranked first in the MLB in runs scored with 94 runs. While the Rockies look to continue their hot streak, Juan Nicasio hopes to remain undefeated. Nicasio is 2-0 on the season with a 3.50 ERA, has allowed 18 hits and struck out 15 batters in 18 innings. Nicasio has allowed seven runs in 11.1 innings in two career starts against the Phillies.
The Phillies are 3-7 in their last 10 during game 3 of a series and 14-37 in their last 51 games as an underdog. The Rockies are 4-0 in Nicasio's last 4 starts and 0-4 in Nicasio's last 4 starts vs. National League East. The Phillies are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings in Colorado.
I just can't pick against the Rockies with the way they're playing lately. The Phillies just can't seem to put runs on the board, which isn't going to get any easier facing a solid Nicasio.
Take the Rockies as long as the price is right.
