The St. Louis Cardinals dropped their series finale against Washington on Sunday blowing a lead and splitting the series overall. The Cardinals are 7-6 on the road, 6-4 in their last 10 games, and three games behind the Brewers in the NL Central standings. As a team the Cardinals are hitting .247 with Matt Adams hitting .357, Yadier Molina hitting .338, and Matt Carpenter hitting .254. The Cardinals pitching staff has a team ERA of 3.16 with the starters at 2.40 and the bullpen at 4.98. For game one at New York St. Louis brings up Tyler Lyons from the Minors to replace the injured Joe Kelly. Lyons has been pitching at Triple-A Memphis and working 53 innings with the Cards last season primarily as a long reliever sporting a 4.75 ERA.
