The Washington Nationals and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Tuesday in Washington for game two of their interleague series.
The Washington Nationals looked to have game one of the series in hand but let it get away late taking the loss. Ian Desmond hit a home runs and Adam LaRoche and Jose Lobaton each had hits as the Nationals scored two runs on just three hits. Starting pitcher Tanner Roark allowed seven hits and struck out five over 6.2 scoreless innings but didn’t factor in decision as Tyler Clippard blew his secon save of the year and took the loss to fall to 1-2 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Nationals start Taylor Jordan who is still looking for his first win. For the season Jordan has allowed 23 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 12 over 16.2 innings for a 0-2 record and a 5.94 ERA.

Starting pitcher Garrett Richards allowed one hit and one run while striking out six over six scoreless innings to not factor in the decision as Fernando Salas got the win and Ernesto Frieri earned his second save. For the season Skaggs has allowed 20 hits and eight earned runs while striking out 11 over 21 innings for a 1-0 record and a 3.43 ERA.
