The Atlanta Braves and the Miami Marlins face off on Wednesday in Atlanta as they continue their NK East series.
The Braves opened this series with a win on Monday but on Tuesday they never got the bats going falling to the Marlins. Jason Heyward, Chris Johnson, and Andrelton Simmons each had hits as the Braves failed to score a run and had just three hits on the night. Starting pitcher Alex Wood allowed four hits and a run while striking out 11 eight innings to be a hard luck loser and fall to 2-3 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Braves start Aaron Harang who left last game before surrendering a hit. For the season Harang has allowed nine hits and two runs while striking out 22 over 25.2 innings for a 3-1 record and a 0.70 ERA.

The Miami Marlins didn’t get a lot of offense on Tuesday but they made it hold up getting the win in Atlanta. Giancarlo Stanton had a hit and scored a run, Casey McGehee had a hit and a RBI, and Christian Yelich added a hit as the Marlins scored on e run on four hits. Starting pitcher Jose Fernandez allowed three hits and struck out 14 over 8.0 innings to get the win and go to 3-1 for the season and Steven Chisek earned hos fourth save of the year. For Wednesday’s game Miami stats Nathan Eovaldi who has had no decisions in his last two starts. For the season Eovaldi has allowed 26 hits and 10 earned runs while striking out 23 over 25.1 innings for a 1-1 record and a 3.55 ERA.
Atlanta is 8-3 in their last 11 games, 72-31 at home, and 1-4 in game three of a series. Miami is 5-10 in their last 15 games, 3-7 as an underdog, and 5-2 in Eovaldi’s last seven starts. Miami is 2-4 in their last six games in Atlanta.
The Braves look like a layup here and while I don’t love the price it beats the alternative.
