The Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox collide at U.S. Cellular Field in AL Central action.
Detroit is just about everyone's pick to win another American League Central title with the question being who can give them a run for their money. The White Sox might be a threat and gave the Tigers a scare Tuesday before the visitors late rally gave them a 4-3 decision. Ace Justin Verlander allowed three runs through seven innings but did not get a decision. The offense came back from a 3-0 deficit with Victor Martinez, Torii Hunter, Austin Jackson and Bryan Holaday each drove in runs as the Tigers posted nine hits but struck out 14 times. The Tigers turn to Max Scherzer on the bump hoping he can contain the bats of the White Sox Wednesday. Scherzer is off to another great start with a 2-1 record with a 2.45 ERA in 33 innings.

The White Sox has been a great story in the early going of 2014 and whether they can keep it going over the long hall is the question with no answer. All I can say is I wouldn't want to face them right now as they simply don't go away. Chicago let Justin Verlander and Detroit slip through their fingers Tuesday as an early 3-0 lead wasn't enough. Jose Quintana matched the Detroit ace for six innings where he left after giving up three runs for a no decision while Ronald Belisario took the loss with a 9th inning run plated. The CWS attack produced seven hits and four walks. but could not generate anything after a three run third. The White Sox give reliever Hector Noesi his first start of 2014. Noesi is 0-1 with an 11.74 ERA in six appearances out of the bullpen covering 7.2 innings of work.
I am leaning Detroit because Scherzer is in top form while assuming the bats will do some scoring on Noesi although I'm not thrilled going against Chicago right now...
