The New York Mets are two games over .500 for the season and despite some rough days in their games in Colorado they left on Sunday with a win in the series final game. The Mets are 8-6 on the road this season, 6-4 in their last 10 games, and they are a game behind the Braves in the standings. As a team the Mets are hitting .228 with Daniel Murphy hitting .314, David Wright hitting .272, and Lucas Duda hitting .271. as a team the Mets pitching staff has an ERA of 4.15 with the starters at 4.19 and the bullpen at 4.08. For game one at Miami the Mets start Jon Niese who has won his last two starts. For the season Niese has allowed 26 hits and eight earned runs while striking out 24 over 32.2 innings for a 2-2 record and a 2.20 ERA.
Miami is 4-0 as a favorite, 6-1 in their last seven games, and 5-1 in Eovaldi’s last six home starts.
