The Baltimore Orioles stay on top of the AL East with a win at Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Baltimore certainly wasn't the odds on favorite to capture the American League East so it's a bit of a surprise to see them sitting atop the division. They will be there at least for another dayb after downing Tampa Bay 5-3 for their 7th win in eleven contests. Chris Tillman gave up two runs in the first and three overall in six frames with three relievers putting up zeros. The Orioles had plenty of baserunners on an eleven hit, four walk night that saw Steve Pearce go solo with four others recording RBI's as well. Baltimore turns to Bud Norris on the mound to face down Tampa Bay. Norris comes in off of a 5-1 victory over Pittsburgh with the lone run scored on seven hits over six innings of work.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles Pick-Odds-Prediction - 5/7/14

Tampa Bay has been difficult to nail down as their offense has yet to break free which puts pressure on the pitching to win games. The Rays began the night well enough versus Baltimore with a two run first but it was an uphill battle to score thereafter. Starter Chris Archer received a no decision with three runs scored on seven hits and a base on balls in five innings of work. Joel Peralta took the loss with a pair of runs plated on three hits and a walk in 1/3 of an inning. The bats mustered six hits and walked five times with Evan Longoria blasting a two run homer while Ben Zobrist singled in another. Cesar Ramos is scheduled to be on the bump to face the Orioles for the first time. Ramos did not receive a decision in a 2-1 victory at Boston with the lone run plated on one hit and six walks in 4.1 innings.

I don't think Norris is a guy to bet the house on but Ramos is a sizeable favorite with limited experience. That being said I don't know what he is going to do so I'll back the first place and see what happens...
