The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox will play game two of three on Saturday. The White Sox won game one, 9-3.
The Diamondbacks fall to 13-25 on the season, but have won five of their last eight games and are playing some of their best baseball as of late. Gerardo Parra has a seven-game hitting streak going and hit a homerun in Friday’s loss, while Paul Goldschmidt has 18 hits in his last 10 games. The Diamondbacks pitching staff, however, could use improvement as they’ve allowed four or more runs in eight of their last 10 games. Taking the mound Saturday will be Wade Miley, who is 2-3 with a 5.14 ERA and has 40 strikeouts in 49 innings. This is the first time Miley has faced the White Sox in his career.

The White Sox have won five of their last six games and are one game above .500. The reason for the hot streak is due to the White Sox absolutely crushing the ball, scoring five or more runs in four straight games. Jose Abreu has homered three times in his last eight games and has eight hits in his last four, while Alexei Ramirez has six RBI in his last four games. Starting for the White Sox will be Jose Quintana, who is 1-2 with a 3.56 ERA and has 35 strikeouts in 43 innings. This is the first time Quintana has pitched against the Diamondbacks in his career.
The Diamondbacks are 4-1 in Miley's last 5 road starts and 7-3 in Miley's last 10 starts with 5 days of rest. The White Sox are 5-2 in Quintana's last 7 starts with 4 days of rest and 4-1 in Quintana's last 5 starts during game 2 of a series.
I like the way the White Sox are hitting the ball and think Quintana is the better picher in this matchup as well. With the White Sox at home and everything considered, you have to take Chicago for the cheap price.
