The Toronto Blue Jays hope to avoid the sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels on Monday.
The Angels are trying to get themselves back in the American League West race in the early going and are playing well with wins in seven of eleven after knocking off Toronto 9-3 on Sunday. Both the arms and bats were at their best with Jered Weaver allowing a single run on four hits and a pair of walks in 6.1 frames. That was overkill with the offense pounding out 12 hits and walking eight times. Hank Conger swung the big bat with three hits including a homer and three RBI's. CJ Wilson will be on the mound looking to secure a four game sweep of the Blue Jays on Monday. Wilson has thrown the ball well in 2014 with a 4-2 record and 3.21 ERA in seven starts.

Toronto had won five in a row before the Angels came to town and reversed their fortunes with three defeats in a row after a 9-3 loss on Monday. The pitching and hitting both struggled in Sunday's defeat with Drew Hutchinson dropping to 1-3 with all three runs given up on three hits and four free passes over 4.1 innings pitched. That put the bats behind the eight ball and they couldn't respond. The Blue Jays totaled six hits and three walks with Edwin Encarnacion doubling in two runs with Jose Batista driving in the other. Veteran left hander Mark Buehrle gets the call to the mound in Monday's series finale' versus the Angels. Buehrle comes in off his third shutout when three hit Philadelphia over seven innings.
This is really is close pitching match up on the mound with the Angels getting the nod at the plate. I'm just going with the better odds right now but this is subject to change...
