The Toronto Blue Jays and the Cleveland Indians face off on Wednesday in Toronto for game two of their series.
The Toronto Blue Jays are looking to make a move in the AL East and they helped their cause on Tuesday getting the win. Juan Francisco had two hits including a home run and Jose Reyes and Jose Bautista had hits as the Blue Jays scored five runs on six hits. Starting pitcher R.A. Dickey allowed five hits and four runs while striking out six over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 4-3 for the season and Casey Janssen earned his first save. For Wednesday’s game the Blue Jays start Dustin McGowan who has four no decisions in his last five starts. For the season McGowan has allowed 37 hits and 18 earned runs while striking out 22 over 35 innings for a 2-1 record and a 4.63 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians mounted a comeback on Tuesday but they came up short and took the loss in the series opener in Toronto. Michael Bourn and David Murphy had two hits each and Nick Swisher and Carlos Santana each had hits as the Indians scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Justin Masterson allowed six hits and five runs while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-2 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Indians start Corey Kluber who won his last time out. For the season Kluber has allowed 58 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 57 over 51.2 innings for a 3-3 record and a 3.48 ERA.
Toronto is 7-1 in their last eight games as a favorite, 8-3 in their last 11 games, and 1-4 McGowan’s last five starts. Cleveland is 5-2 against a right-handed starter, 2-8 as an underdog, and 1-7 in Kluber’s last eight starts against the AL East.
This one looks like a coin flip so it is a small lean at best to the home team.
