The Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks square off in a NL West battle on Saturday.
The Dodgers have some stiff competition in the National League West that goes by the name of San Francisco and if they are to overtake them, winning series is a necessity. Los Angeles got their series at Arizona started off on the right foot with both the bats and arms contributing to a 7-0 victory. Zack Greinke tossed a five hit shutout over eight innings while the bats did their damage on ten hits and five BB. Yasiel Puig homered and nocked in two with Scott Van Slyke going solo. Lefty Clayton Kershaw makes his 4th start of the 2013 campaign when he face the Diamondbacks. Kershaw has had a strong start to the year despite getting hurt with a 2-0 record and 1.74 ERA in three outings.

The season for the Diamondbacks has already come down to winning as many series as possible just to reach .500 because of a painfully slow start to the year. Arizona found no relief Friday with both the pitching and the hitting having problems. Starter Wade Miley was charged with four runs on seven hits and three free passes in six innings before Randall Delgado came on to give up another three runs in two frames. The bats produced only five hits and three base on ball and didn't threaten. Chase Anderson makes his second career start when he takes the bump versus the Dodgers. Anderson was outstanding in his first outing when he beat the White Sox 5-1 with the lone run allowed in 5.1 innings.
The Diamondbacks have beaten Kershaw so they can certainly do it again but I don't know what Anderson will do. I'm siding with one of the best pitchers in the game and rolling the dice...
