The Chicago White Sox will hope to get back to a.500 record when they play game two Saturday against the Houston Astros.
The White Sox have lost five of their last eight games, but are just a half a game out of second place in the AL Central. The White Sox creamed the Astros in Friday’s 7-2 victory, knocking in nine hits and getting the sixth homerun of the season from Adam Dunn. The White Sox are now 18-10 this season when scoring more than three runs. Pitching hasn’t been kind for the White Sox, as they have the 29th worst ERA in baseball at 4.74. Hector Noesi gets the nod Saturday, and he’s 0-3 with a 7.25 ERA and has 19 strikeouts in 22.1 innings. This will be Noesi’s first career start against the Astros.

Since April 28th, the Astros have won just five games and are now 14 games below .500, easily making them arguably the worst team in all of baseball. The Astros can’t score or pitch, as they’ve allowed four or more runs in six of their last 10 games. Offensively, Chris Carter has nine hits in his last six games and Jose Altuve has an eight-game hitting streak going. Getting the start is Jarred Cosart, who is 2-3 with a 4.30 ERA and has 31 strikeouts in 44 innings. This will be Cosart’s second career start against the White Sox.
The White Sox are 24-55 in their last 79 road games and 16-35 in their last 51 games as a road underdog. The Astros are 1-4 in Cosart's last 5 home starts and 2-5 in Cosart's last 7 starts with 5 days of rest.
There should be a rule that you pick whatever team is getting plus money when playing against the Astros. Houston is god-awful and doesn't deserve juice on any of its lines. The value is always going to be on the plus side, which in this case happens to be the White Sox.
