The Los Angeles Angels look to stay in second in the AL West with a win over Tampa Bay Saturday night.
What Tampa Bay needs is a few nice winning streaks and they could easilyy take over the top spot in the American League East. Even though they currently are in 5th noboby has run away in the division. The Rays took a step in the right direction with a 3-0 road win over the Angels on Friday. Chris Archer dominated the Angels hitters with just rwo hits over 5.3 scoreless innings with the pen finishing the job. TB posted six hits and five walks with three players driving in runs including Yunel Escobar with a solo jack. Tampa Bay gives Saturday's start to Cesar Ramos who hopes to bounce back from a 12-5 loss to Seattle Ramos was charged with nine runs (five earned) on eleven hits and a pair of BB in 6.2 frames.

The Angels entered Friday's bout with visiting Tampa Bay in second in the American League West but if they expect to over take Oakland it will require a lot of winning combined with the Athletics losing. Neither happened in the series opener with Jered Weaver tossing a great game with only two runs scored on three hits and three bases on balls. That was still too much as the offense never got un tracked on a four hit and six free passes with clutch hits not on the nenu. Veteran left hander CJ Wilson looks to contain the bats of Tampa Bay in game two of their series. Wilson dropped a 7-3 decision at Toronto with five runs plated on six hits and a trio of walks in six frames.
Wilson would appear to have a huge experience edge over Ramos and certainly has a winning track record. I'm backing him but Tampa has given him problems before...
