The San Francisco Giants look to get back on track in game two against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night.
The Giants have lost three of their last four games, as their usual dominant pitching rotation has been a little shaky. Although the Giants are fifth in team ERA, they’ve allowed four or more runs in six of their last seven games, including five runs in Tuesday’s loss. Offensively, Angel Pagan could return back to the lineup after suffering a shoulder injury, and Brandon Hicks has three hits in his last two games. Getting the nod Wednesday is Matt Cain, who is 1-3 with a 4.33 ERA and has 36 strikeouts in 43.2 innings. Cain is 17-8 with a 3.35 ERA in 33 career starts against the Rockies.

The Rockies have won three of their last four games and are starting to get back to their offensive ways by scoring five or more runs in three straight. The Rockies are 20-8 when scoring more than three runs this season. Although the pitching could improve, Troy Tulowitzki has scored two runs in each of his last three games, and Carlos Gonzalez has two hits in each of his last three games. Taking the mound Wednesday is Jhoulys Chacin, who is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA and has seven strikeouts in 17 innings. Chacin is 5-5 with a 3.38 ERA in 13 career starts against the Giants.
The Giants are 1-5 in Cain's last 6 starts as a road underdog and 7-19 in Cain's last 26 starts overall. The Rockies are 0-4 in Chacin's last 4 starts and 13-5 in Chacin's last 18 starts as a home favorite. The Giants are 8-2 in Cain's last 10 starts vs. Rockies, while the Rockies are 2-7 in Chacin's last 9 starts vs. Giants.
Although this game looks like it's once again going to feature a ton of runs, the total just screams that it's too high. Not to mention the under is 8-1-1 in the last 10 meetings between these teams played in Colorado. Take the under.
