The Baltimore Orioles stay in the hunt for first in the AL East with another win at Pittsburgh.

The Orioles dropped out of first in the American League East and the obvious goal is to retake the top spot from the Yankees. They took a step towards that goal in Tuesday's 9-2 rout of Pittsburgh where both the arms and bats were at their best. Starter Miguel Gonzalez tossed one of his best games with both runs allowed on seven hits over six frames to pick up win number two. The O's pounded out 12 hits with Chris Davis slugging three homers and driving in five while Nelson Cruz went solo. Chris Tillman takes the mound on Wednesday versus the Pirates. Tillman is looking to build on his last effort when he tossed a complete game five hitter in a 4-0 victory at Kansas City.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Baltimore Orioles Pick-Odds-Prediction - 5/21/14

Pittsburgh is one of several teams in the National League Central that has gotten off to a slow start. Things didn't improve Tuesday in the loss to visiting Baltimore which has the Buccos looking at defeats six of eight. Francisco Liriano continued to struggle with six runs plated on nine hits in five innings to fall to 0-4. Two relievers allowed three more runs and that was far too much to overcome for the offense. The Pirates totaled ten hits and a base on balls with Ike Davis clubbing his third bomb while Andrew McCutchen rapped a run scoring single. Left hander Wandy Rodriguez will be on the bump Wednesday looking to contain a strong Baltimore offense. Rodriguez has struggled in 2014 with an 0-2 record and 6.84 ERA in five starts.

I think the Orioles have an edge at the plate and on the mound with Tillman so backing them as dogs seems like the better choice...
