The Cleveland Indians battle the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards Friday night.
Cleveland might be on the verge of righting the ship as they won their second straight extra inning affair by an 8-7 count in 13 innings at Camden Yards Thursday. In the process the Indians have won four in a row. Starter Justin Masterson wasn't good with five runs scored in 5.2 innings but the pen was fantastic with six relievers holding the O's in check with Scott Atchison allowing a 13th inning homer to make things interesting. Ryan Rayburn and Lonnie Chisenhall slammed homer while Carlos Santana cracked a two run double in the 13th. Rookie left hander TJ House makes his first career start at Baltimore on Friday. House has appeared once in relief with a scoreless inning of work against the Athletics.

Baltimore no longer sits in second in the American League East as their pitching was hammered yet again in Thursday's loss to Cleveland. The Orioles have dropped eight of eleven with Wei-Yin Chen charged with five runs on eight hits in 6.2 frames. Darren O'Day blew the save with a homer allowed an Troy Patton absorbed the loss when he oloaded the bases and proceeded to give up a two run double in the 13th. The Orioles posted 13 hits and walked six times with with Nick Markakis going solo with Ryan Flaherty slamming a three run jack. Bud Norris will be on the hill to face visiting Cleveland on Friday night. Norris was a tough luck loser last time out at Kansas City with a lone run scored in 7.1 innings of a 1-0 defeat.
The Orioles are swinging the bats with 30 runs in their last four contests and are 1-3 which says the pitching is awful. With the pen thin the Birds need Norris to go deep Friday but they are tough to back right now. I am but I don't know if they are bettable right now...
