The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees face off on Saturday at US Cellular Field for game three of their series.
The Chicago White Sox have had some rough spots this season but they are back at .500 after a walk-of win on Friday. Adam Dunn hit a ninth inning home run, Alexei Ramirez had three hits including a home run, and Adam Eaton had three hits as the White Sox scored six runs on 13 hits. Starting pitcher Hector Noesi allowed four hits and three runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Jacob Petricka blew the save and Daniel Webb got the win to go to 4-0 for the season. For Saturday’s game the White Sox start John Danks who has lost four of his last five starts. For the season Danks has allowed 57 hits and 33 earned runs while striking out 41 over 52.2 innings for a 3-4 record and a 5.64 ERA.

The New York Yankees appeared to have Friday’s game in hand but they let it get away in the final at bat. Brian McCann hit a home run, Derek Jeter had two hits, and Brett Gardener had a hit as the Yankes scored five runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Hirolki Kuroda allowed eight hits and four runsm two earned, while striking out three over 4.2 innings to not factor in the decision as David Robertson blew the save and took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Yankees start Vidal Nuno who has worked as a starter and from the bullpen this season. For the year Nuno has allowed 36 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 26 over 34 innings for a 1-1 record and a 5.82 ERA.
Chicago is 5-1 in their last six games, 13-30 against a team with a winning record, and 1-4 in Danks’ last five starts as an underdog. New York is 10-2 against a left-handed starter, 2-6 following a loss, and 4-0 in Nuno’s last four road starts. New York is 0-9 in their last nine games in Chicago.
The White Sox just seem to have the Yankees number and are playing better baseball as well making them the pick here.
