The Line: San Francisco Giants -166 / Minnesota Twins +156 --- Over/Under: 7.5 See the Latest Odds

The San Francisco Giants will look to sweep the Minnesota Twins on Sunday afternoon.

Although the Twins have won five of their last eight games, they’re losing some of the ground they made up by getting beat up by the Giants. The Twins have been held to two or less runs in three straight games and put together just four hits in Saturday’s 2-1 loss. The good news is that the Twins pitching has been much better lately, holding five of their last eight opponents to three or less runs. Chris Colabello is hitless in his last eight games. Getting the nod Sunday is Ricky Nolasco, who is 2-4 with a 5.50 ERA and has 37 strikeouts in 55.2 innings. Nolasco is 5-5 with a 3.27 ERA in 11 career starts against the Giants.

San Francisco Giants vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction - 5/25/14

The Giants continue to play solid baseball as they’ve won three straight games and are now 13 games above a .500 record. Of course, nothing has changed with the Giants, as they’ve allowed two or less runs during that stretch and are 21-6 when allowing three or less runs. Offensively, Brandon Crawford has a five-game hitting streak and Pablo Sandoval has at least one RBI in four straight games. Madison Bumgarner will start, and he’s 5-3 with a 3.38 ERA and has 65 strikeouts in 58.2 innings. This is Bumgarner’s second career start against the Twins.

The Twins are 2-8 in their last 10 interleague games and 30-64 in their last 94 vs. a team with a winning record. The Giants are 5-1 in Bumgarner's last 6 starts with 4 days of rest and 9-4 in Bumgarner's last 13 starts overall.

The juice is too much for my taste, which is why I'm taking the under in this matchup. Bumgarner has been solid this season and Nolasco usually has his moments when you least expect it. Expect a low-scoring matchup in this one.
