The Milwaukee Brewers and the Baltimore Orioles face off on Tuesday at Miller Park for game two of their interleague series.
The Milwaukee Brewers let on get away on Monday as they blew a lead with two out in the ninth inning and then lost in extra innings hitting into a double play with a runner in scoring position. Khris Davis had four hits including a home run, Lyle Overbay hit a home run, and Jean Segura had two hits as the Brewers scored six runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Kyle Lohse allowed nine hits and four runs while striking out five over 6.2 innings to not factor in the decision as Francisco Rodriguez blew the save and Rob Wooten took the loss to fall to 1-2 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Brewers start Matt Garza who has two no decisions and a loss in his last three starts. For the season Garza has allowed 59 hits and 33 earned runs while striking out 47 over 60.1 innings for a 2-4 record and a 4.92 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles never gave in on Monday and it paid off as they got the win in Milwaukee. Jonathan Schoop hit two home runs, J.J. Hardy had three hits, and Nick Markakis and Adam Jones each had two hits as the Orioles scored seven runs on 14 hits. Starting pitcher Chris Tillman allowed seven hits and six runs while striking out seven over 5.2 innings to not get a decision as Darren O’Day got the win and Zach Britton earned his third save. For Tuesday’s game the Orioles start Wei-Yin Chen who has won five of his last six starts. For the season Chen has allowed 65 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 34 over 53 innings for a 5-2 record and a 4.08 ERA.
Milwaukee is 4-2 in their last six home games, 7-4 against a team with a winning record, and 4-1 in Garza’s last five starts as a favorite. Baltimore is 7-1 against the NL Central, 7-2 on the road against a team with a winning home record, and 6-2 in Chen’s last eight starts.
