The Milwaukee Brewers and the Baltimore Orioles face off on Wednesday in Milwaukee as they close out what has been a wild series.
The Milwaukee Brewers blew a late lead on Monday then made a late comeback on Tuesday to snatch the win. Carlos Gomez, Khris Davis, and Mark Reynolds all hit home runs as the Brewers scored seven runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Matt Garza allowed five hits and six runs while striking out nine over 6.2 innings to not factor in the decision as Francisco Rodriguez got the win to raise his record to 2-1 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Brewers start Yovani Gallardo who has lost his last three decisions. For the season Gallardo has allowed 55 hits and 23 earned runs while striking out 41 over 59 innings for a 2-3 record and a 3.51 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles looked to have wrapped up another come from behind win on Tuesday but they let it get away from them taking the loss. Nelson Cruz and Steve Pearce each hit home runs and Nick Markakis had two hits as the Orioles scored six runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chin allowed seven hits and five earned runs while striking out six over 5.0 innings to not factor I the decision as Zach Britton blew the save and T.J. McFarland took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the Orioles start Bud Norris who won hos last start to end a personal two game losing streak. For the season Norris has allowed 49 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 39 over 56.1 innings for a 3-4 record and a 3.83 ERA.
Milwaukee is 4-7 in their last 11 games, 4-10 in their last 14 interleague home games, and 2-5 in Gallardo’s last seven starts. Baltimore is 6-2 in their last eight interleague games, 7-4 in their last 11 road games, and 4-0 in Norris’ last four interleague starts.
I haven’t had a lot of success in this series and the way they games have ended have made it feel even worse but I look for Gallardo to come up big and lead the Brewers to the win.
