The Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Indians finish off their series with a Sunday afternoon bout.
Colorado has been on a bit of a slide on the road lately which is dropping them further behind the NL West leading Giants. Following Saturday's 7-6 defeat at Cleveland the road swing stands at 2-6. Franklin Morales was hit hard with six runs plated over 5.1 innings but the offense bailed him out with a no decision. They didn't bail out Rex Brothers who took the loss with an 8th inning run allowed to fall to 2-3. Charlie Blackmon homered and drove in four with Corey Dickerson slamming a solo bomb to pace a solid scoring night. Jhoulys Chacin gets the ball in the series finale' at Cleveland looking to get the Rockies back in the win column. Chacin is coming in off a 9-0 loss at Philadelphia where he gave up four runs on seven hits in five frames.

The Indians are in dire need of a lengthy hot streak after a brutal last week or so where the production at the plate left a lot to be desired. The Tribe had lost four in a row and five of seven away from home where the offense has come to life with back to back wins over the Rockies after Saturday's decision. Starter Trevor Bauer appeared to have a win under his belt with two runs scored over six innings but Scott Atchison gave up three and Josh Outman allowed one to saddle Bauer with a no decision. The bats produced eleven hits but Lonnie Chisenhall and Mike Aviles did the heavy lifting with homers and seven RBI between them. The Indians turn to Josh Tomlin on the bump Sunday who has the task of containing the Rockies big offense. Tomlin has pitched well the last two times out with five runs plated in eleven innings but he was charged with losses in both.
Cleveland has been anything but dependable and Colorado has struggled on the road so it should be no surprise what happens here. I'm going with the Indians and hope the Rockies continue with their road woes...
