The Milwaukee Brewers and he Chicago Cubs face off on Sunday at Miller Park as they close out their NL Central series.

The Milwaukee Brewers lead the National League Central but on Saturday they just had no firepower at all as they fell to the Cubs. Scooter Gennett had two hits and Jonathan Lucroy and Khris Davis each had hits as the Brewers failed to score on four hits. Starting pitcher Wily Peralta allowed five hits and six runs while striking out five over 5.2 innings tot take the loss and go to 4-5 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Brewers start Kyle Lohse who has won his last six decisions. For the season Lohse has allowed 67 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 59 over 74 innings for a 6-1 record and 2.92 ERA.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 6/1/14

The Chicago Cubs have the worst record in baseball but on Saturday they got a rare win knocking off the first place Brewers. Anthony Rizzo hit two hoe runs, Emilio Bonifacio had two hits, and Starlin Castro added a hit as the Cubs scored eight runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Jason Hammel allowed four hits over 7.0 innings while striking out eight over 7.0 scoreless innings to get the win and go to 6-3 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Cubs start Jeff Samardzjia who is coming off of his first win of the season. For the season Samadzjia has allowed 59 hits and 14 earned runs while striking out 64 over 75 innings for a 1-4 record and a 1.68 ERA.

Milwaukee is 4-2 in their last six home games, 21-7 in game three of series, and 8-2 in Lohse’s last 10 starts. Chicago is 2-4 in their last six games as an underdog, 17-35 in their last 52 road games, and 7-20 in Samardzjia’s last 27 starts. Chicago is 7-25 in their last 32 games against Milwaukee.

We have two pitchers who are on top of their games and I look for runs to be scarce so my free pick is the under. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
