The Boston Red Sox hope to stay hot when they open a series at Progressive Field versus the Cleveland Indians.
After looking less then ordinary for the first two months of the season the Red Sox might be finding the groove...finally. Boston won number seven in a row by a 4-0 count versus Tampa Bay behind a sterling effort on the mound from Jon Lester who gave up just four hits in seven frames eith 12 strikeouts to even his record at 6-6. Boston totaled seven hits and seven walks with Brian Holt leading the way with four doubles and a pair of RBI's with a three run 4th giving Lester all the support he would need. John Lackey opens the series on the mound against Cleveland on Monday night. Lackey has not allowed a run in his last two outings with 13 hits given up over 13.1 innings pitched.

Cleveland's first order of business is to reach .500 and hopefully climb out of the American League Central basement in the process. The Indian's took a few steps in the right direction over the weekend sweep of visiting Colorado where they outscored the Rockies 18-12. Josh Tomlin threw the ball well but received a no decision with three runs plated (two earned) on four hits and a walk through 5.2 innings. The Tribe had their share of baserunners on a seven hit, five walk attack that saw Michael Bourne crack a two run homer and knock in three. The Indians hand the ball to right hander Justin Masterson against surging Boston in the series opener. Masterson has yet to right the ship with a 2-4 record and a 5.21 ERA over 12 starts.
Lackey has looked better then Masterson and the Red Sox have been easily playing theirbest baseball so at this price I'll back them...
