The Line: Cleveland Indians -155 / Boston Red Sox +145 --- Over/Under: 8.5 See the Latest Odds

The Cleveland Indians will go for the sweep over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night.

The Red Sox continue their up-and-down season, as they lost 10 straight, won seven straight and are now on the verge of getting swept. In this series, the Red Sox are back to struggling on offense, as they’ve scored just five runs in the first two games. David Ortiz has just five hits in his last 10 games, but Jonny Gomes has scored seven runs in his last 10 games. The Red Sox pitching, however, has improved and some of that has to do with Brandon Workman, who is 0-0 with a 3.24 ERA and has 14 strikeouts in 16.2 innings. This is Workman’s first career game against the Indians.

Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Red Sox MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction - 6/4/14

The Indians have won five straight games and are one win away from becoming a .500 ball club. The reason for the Indian’s turnaround has been an offense that has scored five or more runs in four of their last five games. The Indians are 24-6 this season when scoring more than three runs. David Murphy is riding a seven-game hitting streak and Michael Brantley has scored nine runs in his last 10 games. Corey Kluber gets the start, and he’s 6-3 with a 3.04 ERA and has 95 strikeouts in 80 innings. Kluber is 0-1 with a 6.55 ERA in three career games against the Red Sox.

The Red Sox are 4-1 in their last 5 games vs. a right-handed starter and 4-11 in their last 15 road games vs. a right-handed starter. The Indians are 12-3 in Kluber's last 15 home starts and 20-8 in Kluber's last 28 starts.

The Sox are so inconsistent that it's hard to call them a value pick even when they're getting heavy plus money. With Kluber on the mound, I have no choice but to back the Tribe, even with the hefty juice.
