The suddenly surging Cleveland Indians take their show on the road to face the Texas Rangers.
It's taken them awhile but Cleveland has reached .500 and have their sights set on catching Detroit in the American League Central. The Tribe are riding their longest hot streak of the year with six consecutive victories where the arms and bats have been on the same page. The Tribe swept Boston on the strength of an eleven inning 7-4 victory on Wednesday. Corey Kluber didn't have his best stuff with four runs plated in six frames but the offense picked him up with David Murphy driving in a pair with Asdrubal Cabrera cracking a walkoff three run bomb to win in the 11th. Trevor Bauer toes the rubber against the Rangers for the first time in his career. Bauer has gone 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA over four 2014 starts.

The Rangers haven't been as fearsome as in season's past which has them hovering around the .500 mark and looking up at Oakland in the American League West standings. Texas has been all over the map in terms of their hitting and pitching which means we don't know what to expect from either on any given day. On Thursday the work on the mound nearly cost the Rangers before a late scoring burst carried the team to an 8-6 win over the Orioles. Colby Lewis received a ND with five runs scored in five frames that squandered a 5-0 lead. The Rangers pounded out 13 hits with Michael Choice leaving the yard and driving in two while Mitch Moreland singled in two. Texas is scheduled to start ace Yu Darvish who has been one of the best hurlers in the game. Darvish has nine quality starts in ten outings with four shutouts leading to a 5-2 record and 2.08 ERA.
It's tough to go against a hot Cleveland squad and it's equally tough to go against a pitcher like Darvish. Not real fond of this because I don't trust the Texas bats...
