The Texas Rangers take the field with the Cleveland Indians in game three of their series on Sunday.
Cleveland is hotter then they have been in 2014 as they have reached .500 and need to focus on winning series and catching Detroit in the American League Central. The surging Indians captured their 7th victory in eight contests following an 8-3 win at Texas on Saturday. Four 7th inning runs broke open a tight game and Josh Tomlin made it hold up with eight innings of three run ball. Carlos Santana led a 12 hit attack with a three run blast while Yan Gomes also left the yard and drove in two. Cleveland gives the game three start to Justin Masterson who faces the Rangers for the first time in 2014. Masterson is is 3-4 with a 4.72 ERA over 13 outings.

Texas is chasing Oakland for supremacy in the American League West but the Athletics aren't the only team to worry about with Seattle and the Angels hanging tough as well. The Rangers are still well within striking distance if they can get the arms and bats on the same page which doesn't happen nearly enough. Neither were competitive Saturday with starter Nick Tepesch tagged for four runs in 5.1 frames with Robbie Ross giving up three more in one frame. The Rangers totaled eight hits with Elvis Andrus and Adrian Beltre driving in runs and scoring. Left hander Joe Saunders will be making only his 4th start of the season when he faces the visiting Indians Sunday. Saunders has gone 0-1 with a 3.68 ERA over three starts covering 14.2 innings.
Cleveland is just playing well right now and I prefer their bats here more then I like Masterson but I still prefer him over Saunders so...
