The Toronto Blue Jays visit Camden Yards to face the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night.
The once white hot Blue Jays have been stumbling of late where the runs have been scarce and the pitching not so great. Toronto fell to visiting Minnesota 7-2 on Wednesday for their fourth loss in five contests. Starter Marcus Stroman pitched well enough to win with three runs given up over six innings but Bobby Korecky was charged with three runs in two frames to pu the game out of reach. The Jays tallied ten hits and walked once with Jose Bautista and Dioner Navarro driving in 8th inning runs. A red hot Mark Buehrle looks for another quality start when he takes the mound at Baltimore. Buehrle is 10-2 on the year with a 2.04 ERA in 13 starts.

The Orioles have been alternating wins and losses for the past week but they are still second in the American League East behind Toronto. The Orioles have the ability to win on their hitting or pitching although the bats appear to be their strength. The Birds put everything together in a rain delayed 6-0 victory over the Red Sox on Wednesday with Wei-Yin Chen tossing a four hit shutout over seven frames to improve to 7-2. The offense did their damage on nine hits and four base on balls with Chris Davis leaving the yard and knocking in two while scoring twice. Kevin Gausman takes the ball Thursday for his third start of 2014 when he faces the big bats of Toronto. Gausman defeated Oakland last time out 6-3 with a run allowed in seven frames.
Baltimore can cut in to Toronto's division lead with a strong series and that begins Thursday. If Gausman throws as he did versus Oakland the Orioles can win but I don't know what he'll do so a small play on the Jays...
