The surging Washington Nationals conclude their series at AT&T Park with the San Francisco Giants.
The Nationals have been doing plenty of winning over the last few weeks with both the arms and bats contributing to the success. Dare I say this team is beginning to look the 2012 version that stormed to the National League East crown. The Nats added another game to the win column with a 6-2 decion at San Francisco Wednesday. Tanner Roark picked up the win with both runs plated over six frames while the bats rode a homerun and three RBI's from Jason Werth. Rookie right hander Blake Treinen makes his 4th career start in the series finale' at San Francisco. In three outings Treinen is 0-2 with a 1.78 ERA over 25.1 innings.

San Francisco is one of those teams that will be tough to beat with their hitting and pitching being a very difficult combination to deal with. That means losing streaks will be held to a minimum and hot streaks will be common. San Francisco hasn't struggled all that much in any area but are in danger of being swept by the visiting Nationals following Wednesday's defeat. Matt Cain didn't have his best stuff with four runs plated through five frames as he struggled with his control by issuing five walks. That was the game with the offense mustering an eight hit attack with Brandon Crawford and Pablo Sandoval logging RBI hits. Veteran Tim Hudson toes the rubber in the final game of their series with visiting Washington. Hudson is one reason the Giants sit atop the West with a 6-2 record and 1.97 ERA in eleven starts.
The Giants have been terrorizing everyone thus far so it has been surprising to see Washington playing the part of bully. I'm simply going with the vetersn on the mound to avoid the sweep...
