The San Francisco Giants shoot for consecutive victories when the Colorado Rockies visit AT&T Park.
The name of the game for Colorado is scoring with enough pitching mixed in to win games. That wasn't a successful combination with the Rockies dropping nine of ten before oyscoring Atlanta 18-5 in back to back wins. The arms and bats were both strong in a 10-3 victory on Thursday with Jhoulys Chacin tossing a two hit shutout over seven innings to pick up his first victory. The bats broke loose for ten hits and four BB with Charlie Blackmon and Justin Morneau leaving the yard and driving in three runs each. Colorado opens the series on the mound with lefty Jorge De La Rosa. De La Rosa is 6-5 overall with a 4.04 ERA in 12 starts.

San Francisco has enjoyed their share of success in 2014 as the wins have been rolling in to give the team a view from the top of the National League West. However, visiting Wahington wasn't intimidated with three straight wins before SF avoided getting swept with a 7-1 decision on Tuesday. Tim Hudson came up big on the mound with an uearned run given up on six hits through seven innings to pick up the win. The offense racked up 13 hita and walked four times with Hector Sanchez rapping a PH two run single while Hunter Pence and Michael Morse picked up three hits apiece. Former Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum will oppose the heavy hitting Rockies Friday. Lincecum is 5-4 with an ERA just south of five but the Giants are 9-4 in his starts.
De La Rosa can be shaky away from home and Lincecum is far removed from his Cy Young years but the Giants seem to win when he is on the mound...
