The Baltimore Orioles look to close the gap on the Toronto Blue Jays with another win on Sunday.
Toronto is still sitting atop the American League East thanks to their hot streak of a few weeks back but the past week or so ago has not been kind with the Jays dropping six of eight after Saturday's 3-2 loss at Camden Yards. The bats and arms have both struggled in this stretch although the offense shouldered the blame in Saturday with RA Dickey giving three runs (two earned) over 6.2 innings. The bats had some chances with nine hits and a trio of base on balls but mustered RBI's from Brett Lawrie and Josh Thole. The Blue Jays hand the ball to lefty JA Happ for Sunday's match up at Baltimore. Happ struggled his last time out in a 4-0 loss to Minnesota with all four runs plated (three earned) on six hits and three BB in 3.2 frames.

Baltimore has not been enjoying a torid hot streak but they have been playing well and that has enabled them to close the gap on first place Toronto. Saturday's victory was their third in four contests with great work on the mound leading the way. Great fit the description of Saturday's performance by Bud Norris who allowed a single run on seven hits through 6.2 innings of work. Chris Davis swung the big bat with a two run jack while Nick Hundley connected on a sarifice fly. Chris Tillman hopes to duplicate his last outing at Boston and develop some consistency. Tillman fell to the Red Sox 1-0 with the lone run scored on seven hits and a trio of walks in six innings.
You never know what to expect from Happ and in all honesty Tillman has been awful at times. I'm going to back the potential of Tillman and see if he can turn things around...
