The surging Kansas City Royals go for the sweep of the Chicago White Sox on the road Sunday.
Kansas City has finally gotten in to the groove which has probably caught the eye of the rest of the American League Central. The pitching and hitting have each contributed to their recent hot streak that has seen KC win nine of eleven after topping Chicago 9-1 on Saturday. Danny Duffy threw seven scoreless innings and the offense scored five times in the 4th to take early control. Billy Butler and Mike Moustakas went a combined 5-8 with homeruns and two RBI's with a pair of runs each. Jame Shields will get the ball versus the White Sox on Sunday afternoon. Shields broke a string of poor outings in a 2-1 victory against the Yankees with an unearned run allowed in six innings.

The worse thing for any team is a losing streak especially for a squad like the White Sox who have played better then most thought and don't want to fall too far behing in the division because of a poor few weeks. Nothing went as planned on Saturday with starter Hector Noesi charged with five runs (two earned) over 3.2 innings with Daniel Webb giving up three more in the 9th. The bats totaled seven hits and a pair of bases on balls with Paul Konerko going 3-4 and smacking homerun number four in the 9th to erase the goose egg. Rienzo didn't have anything going for him in an 8-4 loss to the Angels with seven runs scored on nine hits in 3.2 frames.
Shields had struggled the past several times out until getting it together in his last start while Rienzo has shown potential but might need a little seasoning first. I'm going with the hotter team with the pitcher with more potential...
