The Baltimore Orioles travel to Tropicana Field to open a series with the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday.

Baltimore sits in second in the American League East but doesn't seem able to string the wins together so basically the team is treading water at .500 over the past several weeks. The offense hasn't been scoring a ton which has left the pitching to stand on their own. In a 5-2 loss to Toronto it was a mixed bag on the mound with Chris Tillman giving up three runs in seven innings before Tommy Hunter let it get away with two more scored in 2/3 of an inning. That was game over with the Orioles getting a solo homer from Adam Jones and an RBI single from Nelson Cruz. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen takes the ball in the opener versus Tampa Bay. Chen is one of the reason's the Orioles are near the top of the AL East with a 7-2 record and 3.76 ERA.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Baltimore Orioles Pick-Odds-Prediction - 6/16/14

If you follow Tampa Bay then you are well aware of their struggles as the team sits at the bottom of the American League East. Most of the blame is going on the shoulders of the offense which has had problems generating consistent scoring. The Rays got just enough of everything in Sunday's 4-3 win at Houston with David Price allowing all three runs including a pair of long balls. Price went eight innings and struck out ten while the bats totaled ten hits and five bases on balls with Yunel Escobar driving in two runs on a single and double. Tampa Bay give Monday's start to Jake Odorizzi who faces the Orioles for the second time in 2014. Odorizzi is coming in off his best effort to date with a lone run allowed on three hits in seven innings of a 1-0 loss to St Louis.

The Rays have won three of four so we could say they are due for a hot streak but Baltimore as dogs is what I'm looking at...
