The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Milwaukee Brewers face off on Tuesday for game two of their series in Arizona.
The Arizona Diamondbacks fought back early against the Brewers on Monday but in the end they didn’t have enough to match Milwaukee. Paul Goldschmidt, David Peralta, Chris Owings, and Roger Kieschnick each had two hits as the Diamondbacks scored three runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Brandon McCarthy allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out two over 7.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Will Harris took the loss to fall to 0-2 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the D-backs start Wade Miley who has three no decisions and three losses in in his last six starts. For the season Miley has allowed 93 hits and 49 earned runs while striking out 85 over 93.2 innings for a 3-6 record and a 4.71 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers once again showed that they are one of the top five teams in baseball so far this season as they took a tie game and blew it wide open on Monday in Arizona. Aramis Ramirez had three hits, Scooter Gennett had two hits including a home run, and Ryan Braun, Khris Davis, and Elian Herrera each had two hits as the Brewers scored nine runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Wily Peralta allowed nine hits and three runs while striking out six over 7.0 innings to get the win to go to 7-5 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Brewers start Kyle Lohse who has the lowest ERA of his career. For the season Lohse has allowed 83 hits and 32 earned runs while striking out 69 over 96 innings for a 7-2 record and a 3.00 ERA.
Arizona is 3-8 against a team with a winning record, 1-6 in their last seven games, and 1-5 in Miley’s last six starts. Milwaukee is 6-1 in their last seven road games, 2-5 following a win, and 10-3 in Lohse’s last 13 starts. Milwaukee is 4-8 in the last 12 meetings of these two.
