Oakland Athletics vs. Boston Red Sox MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 6/19/14

USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Red Sox are heating up but they haven’t been able to maintain any kind of positive momentum so far this season. The Red Sox are 14-19 on the road this season, 6-4 in their last 10 games, and they have won their last three games. As a team the Red Sox are hitting .246 with Xander Bogaerts hitting .273, Mike Napoli hitting .268, Dustin Pedroia hitting .263, and David Ortiz hitting .246. As a team the Red Sox pitching staff has an ERA of 3.62 with the starters at 4.03 and the bullpen at 2.80. For game one at Oakland the Red Sox start Jake Peavy who has lost his last four decisions. For the season Peavy has allowed 93 hits and 44 earned runs while striking out 67 over 87.1 innings for a 1-4 record and a 4.53 ERA.

Oakland is 5-1 in their last six games, 602 at home against a right-handed starter, and 12-2 in Kazmir’s last 14 starts. Boston is 6-2 in their last eight games, 2-7 in their last nine road games, and 1-6 Peavy’s last seven starts. Boston is 5-12 in the last 17 meetings of these two.

Oakland is a big favorite here but they should be as I don’t’ see them having any trouble in this one.
