Great American Ball Park and the Cincinnati Reds host the Toronto Blue Jays in an Interleague tilt.

Toronto has obviously slowed from their torid hot streak but with the Yankees charging hard there is no break from needing to win everytime out. The Yankees completed the sweep of their rivals with a 6-4 decision on Thursday to keep Toronto on their heels and looking over their shoulders. Drew Hutchison struggled through 4.1 innings with four runs plated with the pen giving up two more. The offense received two run homers off the bats of Edwin Encarnacion and Melky Cabrera but that wasn't enough to prevent their 9th loss in 12 contests. Knuckleballer RA DIckey will be on the mound for Friday's series opener with Cincinnati. Dickey hasn't quite found the groove yet with a 6-5 record and 4.08 ERA in 15 outings.

Cincinnati appears to have recovered from their slow start but still haven't reached .500 although they are heading in the right direction. Surging Cincinnati had won six of seven before dropping a 4-3 decision in 12 innings at Pittsburgh on Thursday. Starter Homer Bailey was charged with three runs on nine hits through 5.2 innings with five relievers keeping Pittsburgh off the scoreboard until Tony Cingrani walked home the winning run. Devin Mesoraco slugged a 9th inning homer with Joey Votto and Jay Bruce driving in runs. Cincinnati turns to Mat Latos for his second start of 2014 in his return from the disabled list. Latos wa as good as ever in his first outing with a two hit shutout over six innings versus Milwaukee.

Tough match up on the mound but sometimes Dickey struggles on the road and Latos looked 100% first game back from the DL so I like him here...
