The Atlanta Braves hope to regroup when they travel to Minute Maid Park to open a series with Houston.
Atlanta might be second in the National League East but they haven't been setting the world on fire with defeats in five of seven which has them just one game above .500. The Braves have dropped back to back contests to first place Washington following a 4-1 setback on Sunday. Starter Ervin Santana threw the ball well enough to win with three runs plated on six hits through six frames while logging nine strikeouts. The Braves attack mustered four hits and a trio of BB with Justin Upton doubling in the lone run. Aaron Harang draws the series opening start at Houston on Tuesday needing a big rebound from his last outing. Harang was shelled for nine runs on 13 hits in five innings of a 10-5 defeat to Philadelphia.

I have said Houston has looked improved several times over the last several weeks but that has not been the case lately with defeats in five of seven with the hitting and pitching being all over the map. The Astros suffered through a 5-2 loss at Tampa Bay Sunday in a game they led 2-1 before falling apart. Dallas Keuchel tossed an eight inning complete game with the five run scored on nine hits and four bases on balls. Dexter Fowler paced the attack with his 6th homer while Jose Altuve singled in another. Scott Feldman looks to begin stringing together some wins when he takes the ball in Tuesday's opener. Feldman is 3-4 on the season with a 3.95 ERA over 12 outings.
I really don't have a great deal of faith in either team and would probably leave this one alone. I give Atlanta a slight nod but I seldom touch this team...
