The Milwaukee Brewers hope to stay hot with a win over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday.
Colorado seemed to be a squad that would be a factor in the National League West but they have fallen off the pace over the past several weeks. The Rockies fell to visiting St Louis 9-6 on Wednesday which saddled the team with defeats in eight of ten. The pitching couldn't control the Cards with Yohan Flande giving up four runs in five innings while three relievers gave up five runs in three frames. Drew Stubbs led the attack with a solo homer with Corey Dickerson driving in two. Christian Friedrich makes his second start of the season with his first also coming against Milwaukee. Friedrich dropped a 9-4 decision with all nine runs given up over six frames but only four were earned.

Milwaukee appeared in danger of dropping number three in a row with a struggling Marco Estrada on the bump to face Washington but he came through with a stellar performance in a 9-2 victory. Estrada allowed both runs on just two hits and four bases on balls through 6.1 innings of work. The Brewers offense pounded out 13 hits and walked four times with Scooter Genett clubbing his first career grand slam and driving in five altogether while Khris Davis went deep an knocked in three. Gennett and Martin Maldonaldo also scored twice. Wily Peralta takes the ball versus Colorado in the same match up he had last time out at Coors Field. Peralta won that one 9-4 with four runs scored (three earned) over 7.2 innings pitched.
It's tough to beat the same team twice within the same week but I feel as though the Brewers have to be given a look here although the price is too steep for me...
