The Cincinnati Reds continued to be one of the hotter teams in baseball as they beat the Giants handily on Friday. Billy Hamilton and Todd Frazier each had three hits and Jay Bruce had two hits as the Reds scored six runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Johnny Cueto allowed three hits and two runs while striking out three over 8.1 innings to get the win to go to 8-5 for the season and Aroldis Chapman earned his 16th save. For Saturday’s game the Reds start Alfredo Simon who has won his last four decisions. For the season Simon has allowed 81 hits and 31 earned runs while striking out 60 over 95.2 innings for a 10-3 record and a 2.92 ERA.
San Francisco is 2-8 following a loss, 1-5 in their last six games, and 2-8 in Cain’s last 10 starts as a favorite. Cincinnati is 7-1 in their last eight games, 5-1 in their last six road games, and 5-0 in Simon’s last five starts. Cincinnati is 8-0 in their last eight games in San Francisco.
The total in this one is set at seven but I don’t see many runs being scored so my free pick is the under. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
