The Minnesota Twins look to even their series with the Texas Rangers in Saturday action.

The goal for Minnesota is to finish the first half of the season strong and hopefully carry some momentum with them after the All Star break. That goal took a step back in a 5-4 defeat at Texas on Friday which saddled the team with four losses in a row. The Twins fell behind early and a huge 9th inning rally fell short. Kevin Correia allowed four runs over six frames to drop his record to 4-9. The offense did nothing until a four run 9th that saw Jorge Polanco rip a two run triple. Minnesota sends Phil Hughes to the mound for Saturday's contest with the Rangers. Hughes has had a strong season thus far with an 8-3 record and 3.40 ERA.

The Rangers have injury problems and it's hurt them on the field and relished them to 4th in the National League West. There is time to get the ship righted but with Oakland and the Angels playing well their backs are against the wall. Starter Nick Tepesch evened his record at 3-3 with a three hit shutout through 7.1 innings of work. Joakim Soria nearly coughed up the game with four runs plated in the 9th on three hits and a walk. The Rangers posted eight hits and walked twice with the big blow being Adrian Beltre's two run bomb and three RBI's overall. Yu Darvish toes the rubber in Saturday's match up with visiting Minnesota. The Rangers ace has been putting up very good numbers with a 7-4 mark and 2.62 ERA.

Yu Darvish is tough to go against at home but we can't discount the way Hughes is pitching and that Texas is banged up. I'm not thrilled backing either for obvious reasons...
