The Los Angles Dodgers and the Cleveland Indians face off on Tuesday at Dodger Stadium for game two of their interleague series.
The Los Angles Dodgers scored one run on Monday but they made it hold up as they won their series opener with the Indians. Adrian Gonzalez had two hits and Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp had hits as the Dodgers scored one run on six hits. Starting pitcher Dan Haren allowed one hit and struck out five over 7.0 innings to get the win and go to 8-4 for the season and Kenley Jansen earned his 25th save. For Tuesday’s game the Dodgers start Josh Beckett who has won two of his last three decisions. For the season Beckett has allowed 66 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 88 over 93.2 innings for a 5-4 record and a 2.11 ERA.

The Cleveland Indians failed to get the bats going on Monday as they lost to the Dodgers in LA. Michael Bourn had a hit and David Murphy had a walk as only two Indians reached base all night. Starting pitcher Corey Kluber had it working as he allowed six hits and a run while striking out five over 6.2 innings to take the loss and fall to 7-6 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Indians start Justin Masterson who had his start pushed back because of a knee injury. For the season Masterson has allowed 93 hits and 52 earned runs while striking out 85 over 93 innings for a 4-5 record and a 5.03 ERA.
Los Angeles is 8-1 in their last nine home games, 18-7 in their last 25 interleague games, and 3-9 in Beckett’s last 12 home starts. Cleveland is 17-46 in their last 63 interleague road games, 2-8 in their last 10 games, and 2-5 in Masterson’s last seven road starts. Cleveland is 2-6 in the last eight meetings of these two.
The Indians are a big dog here but I see them being a big value and in a game I don’t love they are worth taking a chance on at this price.
