The Los Angeles Angels and the Houston Astros face off on Saturday in Anaheim as they continue their AL West series.
The Los Angeles Angels continue to march through the competition as the chase the A’s in the AL West. Mike Trout hit a walk off game winning home run, Albert Pujols had three hits including a home run, and Howie Kendrick had four hits as the Angels scored seven runs on 16 hits. Starting pitcher C.J. Wilson didn’t have his best stuff has he allowed seven hits and six earned runs while striking out six over 4.1 innings to not factor in the decision as Joe Smith earned the win to go to 3-0 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Angels start Hector Santiago who hasn’t won this season. For the season Santiago has allowed 49 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 47 over 53 innings for a 0-7 record and a 4.08 ERA.

The Houston Astros looked like they were headed to extra innings on Friday but they let it get away from them and took the loss. George Springer, Chris Carter, Jonathan Singleton each hit home runs as the Astros scored six runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel allowed 13 hits and five runs while striking out one over 5.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Josh Fields blew the save and Tony Sipp took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Astros start Scott Feldman who got the win in his last start. For the season Feldman has allowed 81 hits and 34 earned runs while striking out 47 over 78 innings for a 4-5 record and a 3.92 ERA.
Los Angeles is 11-3 in their last 14 games, 21-6 in their last 27 home games, and 2-8 in Santiago’s last 10 starts. Houston is 31-70 in game three of a series, 0-4 as a road underdog of up to +150, and 1-5 in Feldman’s last six starts. Houston is 4-10 in the last 14 meetings of these two.
The Angels are hot and are the better team and while Santiago looks doomed to not get a win the Angels get the win here.
