The suddenly hot Tampa Bay Rays look to move a step closer to .500 with another win at the Detroit Tigers.
Hot streaks and Tampa Bay have not been mentioned in the same sentence very often in 2014 but the team is playing their best baseball with wins in nine of eleven where both the bats and arms contributing. Chris Archer was dominant in a 7-2 win at Detroit with 8.1 frames with a pair of solo homers given up. Kevin Kiermaier paced an eleven hit attack with three hits and three RBI's while Logan Forsythe left the yard and knocked in two. Left hander David Price will be on the bump versus the heavy hitting Tigers on Sunday. Price has been on a torid streak where he has posted seven consecutive quality starts.

Detroit has rebounded from their recent slowdown to reclaim the lead in the American League Central. Despite the loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday the Tigers have won seven of eleven with both the work on the mound and at the plate getting on the same page. That was far from the case Saturday with Anibal Sanchez suffering through one of his poorest outings of 2014 with all seven runs allowed on six hits and four bases on balls in 5.2 frames. The potent Tigers offense never got untracked with JD Martinez and Alex Avila cracking solo homers. Rick Porcello will be on the mound in the series finale' looking to extend the hottest streak of his career. Porcello has thrown three consecutive shutouts including back to back complete games.
