The Milwaukee Brewers hope to avoid getting swept at Miller Park versus the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies have a chance to pick up a rare road sweep against the Brewers on Wednesday as trade rumors begin to spring up. The Phillies offense sprang to life in a 9-7 victory at Miller Park as they rallied from a 5-1 first inning hole. The team never knows what to expect when Kyle Kendrick is on the mound but it wasn't good Tuesday with all seven runs plated om eleven hits including three homers over 5.2 innings which was still a winning effort. Dominic Brown led the offense with a homer and three RBI's with Chase Utley and Ben Revere knocking in five more. Philadelphia gives Wednesday's start to Roberto Hernandez who can pitch the Phillies to the sweep of the Brewers. Hernandez is riding a three game skid with a 4.34 ERA.

The Brewers have been holding on to the top spot in the National League Central since day one but they have been in struggle mode as of late with defeats seven of eight where the bats have been struggling. The Brew Crew are walking a dangerous line and starter Wily Peralta is looking to be fade material lately as he was pounded for all nine runs on eight hits through only 4.1 innings. The offense nearly bailed him out thanks to the long ball with Scooter Gennett, Mark Reynolds and Lyle Overbay clubbing homers and knocking in all seven runs. Milwaukee turns to Kyle Lohse to contain the Philadelphia and avoid the sweep at home. Lohse has been outstanding in 2014 with a 9-3 record and 3.18 ERA covering 18 outings.
Lohse is the best hurler Milwaukee has and they really need a big effort from him to break the recent slide. Hopefully the bats continue to hit as well...
