The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox face off on Sunday at Progressive Field as they play their final game before the All Star Break.
The Cleveland Indians dropped to a game under .500 as they lost to the White Sox on Saturday. Michael Brantley hit a home run and Jason Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall had hits as the Indians scored two runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Zach McAllister allowed four hits and three runs while striking out two over 7.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-5 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Indians start Trevor Bauer who has won two of his last three decisions. For the season Bauer has allowed 68 hits and 31 earned runs while striking out 60 over 66 innings for a 3-4 record and a 4.23 ERA.

The Chicago White Sox were able to hold onto their lead on Saturday as they won game two in their series with the Indians. Jose Abreu hit his 29th home run and Adam Dunn and Gordon Beckham each had hits as the White Sox scored six runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Scott Carroll allowed just two hits and struck out three over 5.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 4-5 for the season. For Sunday’s game the White Sox start John Danks who has won five of his last six decisions. For the season Danks has allowed 111 hits and 52 earned runs while striking out 79 over 112.2 innings for an 8-6 record and a 4.15 ERA.
Cleveland is 4-1 against a left-handed starter, 7-3 in game three of a series, and 4-1 in Bauer’s last five home starts. Chicago is 6-2 as a road underdog, 2-7 against a team with a losing record, and 6-14 in Danks’ last 20 road starts. Chicago is 6-1 in their last seven games against Cleveland.
The White Sox are a big dog here but I am not seeing it as I will take Chicago at the nice price.
