The Los Angeles Angels and Seattle Mariners finish off their AL West series on Sunday afternoon.

The Mariners have been fading a bit over the past few weeks and need to turn things around as quickly as possible to remain in the hunt for a Wild Card berth. Seattle has thrown the well enough but haven't been scoring. The M's didn't do a lot of scoring Saturday but the pitching came through in a in a 3-2, 12 inning victory over the Angels. Felix Hernandez was solid as usual with a run plated on two hits and four BB with four relievers putting up zeros befor Dominic Leone served up a solo homer in the bottom of the 12th. The offense received rbi's from Justin Smoak and Jesus Sucre in the 12th to win it. Chris Young looks to build on a very solid season when he gets the ball versus the Angels for the second time. Young has built an 8-6 record with a 3.15 ERA over 18 outings.

If it wasn't for Oakland, the Angels might be the best team in the game because they have been able to both hit and pitch giving them the ability to win shootouts or pitching duels. Starter Garrett Richards was on target with a run scored on three hits through eight innings pitched with Joe Thatcher absorbing the loss with both 12th inning runs plated. The Angels attack consisted of five hits and six bases on balls with Efren Navarro driving in Albert Pujols in the 7th with David Freese connecting on his 4th homer in the 12th to make things interesting. Left hander Tyler Skaggs faces the Mariners for the first time in 2014. Skaggs has been eith good or bad and it was the latter last time out with six runs plated over five innings in a 10-7 victory at Texas.

Chris Young is having a better season then Skaggs but the latter is tougher if on his game with the better offense backing him. This is one of those games where I think the Angels likely win but I would rather take the huge plus odds...
