The Cleveland Indians go on the road to tangle with the Minnesota Twins at Target Field on Monday.
Cleveland seems like the one team in the AL Central that can challenge the Tigers in the division. The Tribe had won seven of ten before the bats and arms stalled in Sunday's 5-1 defeat at division leading Detroit. Josh Tomlin tool the loss to fall to 5-7 with four runs plated on six hits including a two run homer over 4.1 frames. The Indians offense never got traction on four hits and four bases on balls with the lone run scoring on Yan Gomes 13th long ball of the season. Cleveland sends rookie TJ House to the bump to face rival Minnesota for the first time. House has logged a 1-2 record with a 4.40 in eight starts where the Indians have gone 5-3.

Minnesota looks improved from previous seasons but not enough to be a factor in the American League Central yet. The Twins will get hot and win a few games and then go cold and lose a few. The bottom line is consistency is needed and none was found in Sunday's 5-3 loss to visiting Tampa Bay. Starter Kevin Correia gave up four runs on seven hits and a trio of free passes through four frames to absorb the loss. The Twins totaled six hits and walked five times with Josh Willingham singling in two runs. Kris Johnson will be on the bump for the third time in his career when he squares off with the dangerous Indians. Johnson has gone 0-1 in his two 2014 starts with a 5.40 ERA covering 8.1 innings.
Neither hurler has a ton of experience but House has more and has the benefit of the Cleveland offense behind him so I'll back the visitors...
