The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates meet in MLB action from PNC Park on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to rebound after starting the series with a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Pirates last time out. Freddie Freeman has a team-high 32 hits with a .317 batting average and is one of four Dodgers with 13 RBIs. Trea Turner has a team-high 20 RBIs as well as 26 hits. Freeman also has 9 doubles to lead the Dodgers while Mookie Betts has a team-high 5 home runs. Tony Gonsolin will start here and is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will try to keep the rare bit of momentum going after their surprising upset last time out. Ke’Bryan Hayes has a team-high 31 hits and 8 doubles with a team-high .333 batting average as well while Daniel Vogelbach has a team-high 4 home runs and 11 RBIs. Ben Gamel also has a team-high 13 RBIs while Michael Chavis also has 13 RBIs and Bryan Reynolds has 4 home runs of his own on the year. Bryse Wilson will start here and is 0-1 with a 3.79 ERA and 16 strikeouts this season.

Los Angeles is 8-3 in their last 11 road games and 66-25 in their last 91 games overall while the under is 7-0 in their last 7 games against a right-handed starter. Pittsburgh is 2-5 in their last 7 home games and 3-8 in their last 11 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here as the Pirates managed to stun the Dodgers in emphatic fashion but the Dodgers don’t usually stay down for long and I don’t know if the Pirates are going to be the team to hold them down. On the flipside, I don’t know how much I truly trust Tony Gonsolin to be the guy to get me to the promise land but he’s pitched fairly well early on and Bryse Wilson doesn’t go deep into games but he’s been pitching fairly well lately, that’s why I’m looking at the under here. I think this one has potential to be another low-scoring affair, so under it is.
