The Kansas City Royals goes for the sweep of the rival Cleveland Indians at Kauffman Stadium Sunday.
The Indians are in desperate need of a few wins in order to remain a threat to the American League Central. The Tribe have dropped to six of seven after falling at Kansas City 7-5 Saturday despite 5-0 after two innings. Zach McAllister was charged with six runs on eight hits and a pair of BB over four frames. The Tribe posted 12 hits and walked four times that saw Carlos Santana homer and Jason Kipnis knock in two. Danny Salazar makes his second consecutive start since rejoining the rotation when he faces the Indians Sunday. Salazar was outstanding in his first outing with a lone run scored over five frames of an 8-2 win versus Minnesota.

The Royals slow slide over the past month had taken them from first in the division to third. However, Kansas City has retaken second over Cleveland with victories in five in a row after knocking off the Tribe for the second straight night on Saturday. It didn't look like the Royals night with Cleveland tagging Jeremy Guthrie for five runs in the second but that was all he gave up on ten hits through 5.2 frames with four relivers shutting down the Tribe. Billy Butler paced a nine hit attack with a homer and two RBI's with Norichika Aoki knocking in a pair as well. Veteran left hander Bruce Chen is scheduled to make his 3rd straight start when he squares off with Cleveland. Chen has allowed a combined three runs in 10.1 innings in consecutive victories.
I don't like Chen at all and honestly have struggled picking his games so take that for what it's worth when I back the Royals as the hotter team...
